The bushings are the red rubber things in the center of the trucks. there are 2 per truck, and they come in many different hardness's to customize for your riding style.

Slalom boards are longboards, their just made to turn very rapidly. Slalom riders can easily get to 35-40 mph during a competition. Speedboards are a lot less turny and more stable.

Having the proper safety gear and the ability to stop yourself at those kinds of speeds allows you to be prepared for any worst case scenario.

Since longboard wheels are about twice the size of normal skateboard wheels, we can handle small twigs and pebbles easily. We drive up and down the road once to scout it out before we ride it. When riding you can see the rocks and sticks that will cause a problem and avoid them.

I also skate blank decks for street, kids now are paying $20 extra for a graphic on their board. Longboards last a lot longer since you don't ollie or grind them. I haven't had a car run mine over, but mine take pretty hard slams into curbs that shatter the nose. My board isn't that expensive compared to most downhill riders, some have $500 decks and $300 trucks.

On some roads we can go 20 mph over the speed limit, but we do not have motors so we don't apply. I think there is one law that says riding 'toys' is not allowed, but I'm not sure.

Yes, cops stop us a good bit. They always just tell us were stupid and should leave, but some are cool and let us keep riding. One was even cool enough to clock our speeds with his radar gun.

Right now I use an old Arbor pin that I reshaped. I have orange BigZigs on 42* Randal trucks. I'm also using white JimZ bushing.

I've only been snowboarding three times, if i got to do it as much as skateing then I'd probably like it more.

The trucks are pretty tight, but its more of the bushing combo you use.

I'm riding a reshaped arbor pintail, until I get my Rayne hellcat in a month or so. The other people were using an earthwing mystery model, and a black sheep.

Very! That's one of the hardest part of this sport, is to hold that awkward tuck for minutes on end. Your legs feel like rubber after every run.

You can stop by dragging your back foot on the groung, or by sliding using slide gloves.

I look down to either look behind me, or to correct my foot placement.
